Just after the New Year’s Eve, we’ve started cooperation with Hitachi Data Systems (now Hitachi Vantara). The Polish department of this world corporation is a financial and accounting center operating in Cracow since 2007 and closely cooperating with the office in Kuala Lumpur, providing financial and accounting services for all Hitachi units in Europe and the Americas. Also, the Kraków branch supports activities in areas such as HR, Business Intelligence, IT and after-sales customer support.
The Hitachi’s special Team of Excellence came to us, looking for an innovative solution that will increase the involvement of employees and improve the current system of suggestions and reporting problems in the organization.
This initiative led to the implementation of the Sherlock Waste platform for all employees of the Centre in Cracow and Kuala Lumpur. We combined this event with the official opening
“9 Waste” workshops, which we conducted almost simultaneously in Krakow and the capital of Malaysia.
In addition to the employees involved, who reported as many as 163 problems and 160 ideas for solving them, leaders, managers and the Team of Excellence also showed great commitment.
As of today, we know of 22 removed issues and 44 ideas that are regularly put into practice. This is as much as 40% of the implementations of the given solutions.
We also conducted an anonymous employee survey to find out what they think about the new tool. Some answers, such as this one, have exceeded our wildest expectations!
